Bulldogs Volleyball - 25 Years and counting!

It started with an idea over 26 years ago - can't play beach volleyball outside in April (certainly not in Bruce County!),

so why not bring the sand indoors!  Just like 'Field of Dreams' - if you build it, they will come!

And so was born the annual Kincardine Bulldogs Indoor Beach Volleyball Tournament - an idea brought to life by co-founder of the Bulldogs, Doug Kennedy.  For over 25 years, the first weekend in May we transform the ice surface of the Davidson Centre into four beach volleyball courts (with no weather worries) - hosting schools and local service clubs through the days, and after kicking off the weekend with the Thursday Evening Business Night, Friday and Saturday host all categories of teams from Competitive to various levels of Recreational Teams.

Moving forward, our tournament will now be known as the 'Kincardine Bulldogs DK Memorial Indoor Beach Volleyball Tournament"

'DK' Doug Kennedy

Bulldog co-founder and force behind the volleyball tournament, Douger became a stalwart not only in the sporting community, but in Kincardine as a whole.  His spirit lives on within our organization as we remember all that he taught us and those that he touched.
